As housing prices have fallen, many wonder if we’ve hit bottom, or will prices continue to drop?  No one can answer that question-there are predictions that the housing market won’t recover until 2010, while others say that our Charleston market didn’t really feel the effects as other areas in the country did.

If you’re trying to sell your home, your best bet is to price with the competition.  Looking at sales over the past six months or year may not be accurate.  A 2000 sf home that sold in January may not command the same price now.

If you want to see what’s going on in your neighborhood, get a Market Snapshot.  You can do this as a buyer or seller- track listings, sales, look at statistics, and choose how frequently you want to get these updates.

My other suggestion is that if you have a question, call me! Sometimes the snapshot, which picks up info directly from the MLS, may need further interpretation.  I’ll be happy to answer your questions, anytime!
